1970 Brazilian Folk Art Carved Wood Panels by the artist Iana
These exquisitely vibrant and honest examples of vintage folk/street art were hand carved during 1970 and 1971 (as can be seen on the backs of the panels), using what appear to be reclaimed floorboards of indigenous hardwood. This item forms part of a beautiful collection of related pieces, purchased by a British oil company executive who was stationed in Brazil at the time.
This visually stunning group of four vividly-coloured panels, depicting local street scenes of the time, are shown to have been carved in 1970, by the artist Iana. Individually placed, or hung in a sequence of your choosing, they would create a wonderful montage for any room or space.
