World War 2 German Army Chocolate in Original Tin
World War Two German Army Chocolate in its original tin. Dated 1939, this original field ration tin of Wehrmacht chocolate still remains wrapped and sealed, so despite a few minor marks on the base of the tin itself, this edible piece of history is in time-warp condition.
During World War Two, due to its high caffeine content, Scho-Ka-Kola was known as ‘aviator chocolate’, as it was issued to Luftwaffe pilots and crews to extend wakefulness, and thereby increase alertness on night-bombing raids. As well as Germany’s infantry, it was also issued to its tank and U-boat crews.
Tin dimensions: 9cms diameter; 2cms deep
