This nicely presented example of the MK.IX marching compass was manufactured by J.M. Glauser of London.
Its date, serial number and war ministry arrow can be clearly seen on the reverse, and its hand-stitched leather case is of the correct type but pre-dates it and is dated 1915. The compass is fully functioning and has minor blemishes commensurate with its age.
